Conductivity, clearance and corrosion

Custom Metal Parts for Power & Electrical Equipment

Custom copper busbar fabrication, switchgear panels, transformer housings and earthing hardware — where conductivity, creepage distance and long-term corrosion performance drive the specification.

Copper handled as copper

C110 is reflective, thermally conductive and gummy. It needs nitrogen assist on the laser for oxide-free edges, sharp high-rake tooling when stamped, and slower feed rates. Treating it like mild steel produces burrs, smearing and short tool life.

Clearance and creepage respected in fabrication

Busbar spacing, hole positions and bend radii affect electrical clearance. We work to your drawing dimensions exactly and flag anything that looks like it will not hold the stated clearance once bend allowance is applied.

Surface prepared for the joint, not the photo

Busbar contact faces need the right plating for the joint — tin for general use, nickel as a barrier layer, silver where contact resistance is critical. Specify the requirement; masking is available where only contact zones need plating.

FAQ

Can you laser cut copper busbar?

Yes. C110 copper is cut on our 12,000 W fiber laser up to 6 mm with nitrogen assist, which produces oxide-free edges. Copper is reflective, so feed rates are slower than steel — that is reflected in the quote rather than causing quality problems.

Do you plate busbar contact surfaces?

Yes — tin and nickel plating are available, with masking where only the contact zones require coating. Specify the plating type, thickness and masked areas on your drawing.

What copper thickness can you form?

C110 forms readily from 0.2 to 6.0 mm. The minimum inside bend radius for copper is around 0.5× material thickness, which is tighter than steel because copper is more ductile.

Can you build complete switchgear enclosures?

We build the metalwork — panels, doors, frames, chassis, gland plates and mounting hardware — with the finish and hardware fitted. Electrical assembly, busbar installation and type testing remain with your team or your panel builder.

Do you hold UL certification?

No. We hold ISO 9001:2015, registration 34025Q30296R0S. We manufacture to your drawings and specified materials, and supply material certificates that support your own listing process, but we are not a UL-listed manufacturer.

How do you prevent iron contamination on stainless and copper?

Separate tooling, handling and work areas for copper, stainless and carbon steel, with passivation available for stainless components where surface contamination is a concern.
